Weber’s Missa sancta No.2 in G, “Jubelmesse” (Mass
of Rejoicing), was written for the golden wedding anniversary in 1819
of the King of Saxony at the court in Dresden. The radiant Agnus Dei
is an alto solo, followed by a jaunty setting for solo soprano and
choir of Dona nobis pacem.
