Credo (Playnsong masse for a Mene)

Sheppard was at the Chapel Royal in the sixteenth century and composed several mass settings. This one is in a simple style, alternating plainsong with polyphonic choral sections.

Agnus Dei (Jubelmesse)

music: Carl Maria von Weber


Weber’s Missa sancta No.2 in G, “Jubelmesse” (Mass of Rejoicing), was written for the golden wedding anniversary in 1819 of the King of Saxony at the court in Dresden. The radiant Agnus Dei is an alto solo, followed by a jaunty setting for solo soprano and choir of Dona nobis pacem.
